Passing By, 2013

This a piece documenting poverty in the city of Chicago; however, instead of the images being of the impovished or where they stay, the a compose as though threw their eyes. I went to the Loop time and time again and asked beggars if they minded if I sat next to them and took pictures. At first I was taking pictures as a photographer, they all looked much like street photography. So I sat there for a moment, in the bitter cold, and really took the time to study what it was they actually saw. They see feet. Hundreds of thousands of feet passing them by for every one person or group who stops to take due notice of their plight. And so it was then I began photographing in a way depicting what they actually saw.
